March of Dimes
March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. We believe that every baby deserves the best possible start. Unfortunately, not all babies get one. We are changing that.
For 80 years, March of Dimes has helped millions of babies survive and thrive. Now we’re building on that legacy to level the playing field for all moms and babies, no matter their age, socio-economic background or demographics. We support moms throughout their pregnancy, even when everything doesn’t go according to plan. We advocate for policies that prioritize their health. We support radical improvements to the care they receive. And we pioneer research to find solutions to the biggest health threats to moms and babies.
The men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Epsilon Chi Sigma chapter proudly participate in the annual March of Dimes march to raise awareness of this issue. “
Sigma Beta Club
“In the early 1950s, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity became the first Greek organization to develop a youth auxiliary group. Under the direction of Dr. Parlett L. Moore (pictured) the Sigma Beta Club was founded. While as National Director of Education, Brother Moore was concerned about our changing needs in our communities and recognized the important role that Sigma men could play in the lives of our youth.
Single Father Initiative
We are asking members of the community to recommend fathers by providing a name and phone number of the candidate and state why they recommend he receive the award. Candidates should meet the following criteria:

Be the current custodial/primary residential parent

Have children under the age of 18 In order for the recommended candidate to be considered, we will ask the candidate to provide proof of:

Residential custody

Children’s age
-
Residency in the greater Chicagoland area (Cook, Will & DuPage counties)
Selected fathers will receive $250
There is no income requirement to receive this award.
